All they have to do is run the table and they get to the BT title game. As long as either Nebraska ir Wisky beat Penn State.

In theory Ohio State could make the B1G title game, but they are going to get beat down next week. You are probably going to have to complete more than one pass to beat the Badgers. I'll be happy if the Buckeyes only lose 1-2 more games this season.

Haha was thinking the same thing! If you need another team ahead of you to lose, you don't control your own destiny. But I get his point: OSU, in theory, has a good shot if they win out. Sadly, Wisconsin is leagues better than us, but I am sure Bollman has been devising an innovative gameplan the during the bye week ... /sarcasm

If by devising an innovative gameplan you mean putting popcorn in the microwave and then eating it..then yes, he's probably devising a supremely innovative gameplan.

They also control their own destiny to get the BCS title game IF eveyone else loses 3 or 4 games. :)

Pretty pessimistic view for a true Buckeye fan. ;)

For the record, I agree.

Pessimistic? Not really, I think they only lose 2 more games this season. They'll get beat down physically by Wisconsin. OSU is too young overall.

I hear he's added a few new trick plays to the playbook this week. And by trick plays I mean pass plays.

I doubt Bollman puts his own popcorn in the microwave. He seems to be the grumpy sort of person who ALWAYS makes the intern/student-manager types do that for him.

They control their own destiny - except for the stuff they don't control.

Sadly, not the OP's dumbest post.

And another one that doesn't know how to read. Good thing OC doesn't require entrance exams. Dumbasses all around.

They don't control their own destiny to the B1G title game. Penn State needs to lose another game. Your thread title is not correct.

Wisconsin was a 7 point favorite in East Lansing. How did that game turn out? Wisconsin is a 7 point favorite this week in Columbus. Oklahoma was favored by 29.5 over T Tech. Who won that game?

If Ohio State pulls the upset this week... (would not be that big of an upset either), then I think Buckeye nation will get pretty primed up. There is virtually no chance Penn State runs the table. As bad as our offense is, I think the Nittany Lions offense is worse.

So I take it you agree that Boise State would be favored in Columbus, right?

At this point in the season they would be. At the beginning of the season when Ohio State was ranked 16th and we were having this conversation, no, I don't think they would have.

It's only accurate if you make up your own definitions to terms you don't understand, like you did with your embarrassing posts on stock options over in the politics board.

I'll go slowly, as you don't read fast. "Control your own destiny" (or as your dumb ass spells it, "destiiny") means that if tOSU wins all of their games, they go to the championship game regardless of the outcome of any other game on the schedule. That is not true, not that you have any regard for the truth, as you've proven any number of times.

This is not true:
Footwedge;942069 wrote:All they have to do is run the table and they get to the BT title game.
When you add this......:
As long as either Nebraska ir Wisky beat Penn State
......it makes this statement false:
Buckeyes control their own destiny now
I see this argument heading to elite OC status, up there with "1+1...x0".

What does point spreads have to do with this topic?

The fact remains that your thread title is complete inaccurate. The Buckeyes do not control their own destiny (or destiiny). In order to control your own destiny you simply need to win all of your games with the outcome of everyone else's games being irrelevant. That isn't the case for Ohio State, since they need to win all of their games and have someone else beat Penn State. In fact, Wisconsin and Penn State both control their own destiny in the Leader's division, Ohio State does not.

I'm also curious, would Ohio State still go to the B1G title game if they run the table and if Penn State loses to Illinois, or does their other loss have to come against Wisconsin or Nebraska in order for OSU to make the title game?

OSU would go, as the Buckeyes would be 1-0 vs. every single team in the B1G Leaders Division. As long as PSU has 2 losses (1 vs. OSU), it won't matter where that second PSU loss comes from.
