Struthers comes to Campbell Memorial on Friday in a very important game for Campbell. The Wildcats have had a somewhat disappointing season. But they played Hubbard very tough in week 9 without two starters. They have plugged in a new starter at QB in Muntean. And he threw for nearly 300 yards vs. Hubbard. Campbell beat Newton Falls despite missing two starters and incurring 150 yards in penalties. The Red Devils need this game to ensure that they will be playing in week 11. Your thoughts?

No clue on If Stewart is playing in this game seemed precautionary on the sidelines didnt seem real hurt.... Their best OL got kicked off the team for off field issues..... Kimbrough is nursing a rib injury, but this is a rivalry game guarentee you both teams will be fired up it will be a hard hitting hard nosed football game nothing else you can want on a friday night in late october!!! Muntean is a very good QB and is pass first where Kimbrough was run first and rarely let anyone have a chance, i see this game being a really good game to watch around the area it will not be a waste of 6 bucks this friday night hoping for a great injury free game

i did know about the OL, got into some trouble with the law with an illegal substance, but Campbell has alot of that problem going around also. So we are noone to judge.

Campbell needs this game. If you show up like you did against Girard then you have nothing to worry about. The kids still get up for this game and Struthers always plays hard so im expecting a very similar game to last years. Campbell can move the ball and get some stops...can Struthers move the ball enough on us to stay in it?

I think they should be able to move the ball. I don't know if they'll be able to get enough stops though.

Kimbrough will need to make some big plays from the WR position. He was only targetted once against Hubbard... it was a pass interference call against Hubbard. He did have some nice returns. Bruised/broken ribs are no joke though...

Duchek and Malone are both very sure handed, as are Kunzer and Stewart out of the backfield. Fandozzi is a reliable option at TE too. Muntean can do some damage in this offense... the line needs to give him time though.

I don't know if Stewart will play or not.

We'll see what happens.

Go Cats!!

Campbell Does indeed need this game to get in for sure. Its a must win no matter what. Are the two Starters Kicked off or just suspended from last Fridays game. Even though Campbell had a nice 33 years FG. There special teams play is ratter bad from what I'm gathering and seen in the girard game. could be a problem going into the game. If the same team shows that played girard then they should win. but who knows. will find out Friday. win and in.

The soph. QB for the cats is going to be a stud soon. But the jey to winning for the cats is the punch the devils right in the mouth. Run stewart all night, keep the TOP and win the game. Campbell can score fast, so wrapping up and tackling is also key.
Go cats.
Bring it home where it belongs boys.

Campbell's special teams were horrible vs. Newton Falls. Kickoff coverage was dreadful as Newton Falls nearly broke two of them for touchdowns. And those on-side or pooch kick disasters have to be corrected. Struthers is going to come to Campbell ready to play. The Red Devils have to keep up the intensity on defense and make the plays on offense. They need to minimize the mistakes and reduce the penalties. Hopefully the three knuckleheads who were suspended for the Newton Falls game will be back on Friday. More rain is forecast for the coming week. So the field at Campbell is not likely to be in any better shape than it was vs. Newton Falls. From my perspective, a 7,000 seat stadium was not needed at Campbell. They could have saved some money by reducing the seating capacity to 4,000 or so and used the remainder of the funds toward the installation of field turf. It's hard for me to sit in the home side bleachers each week seeing all of those empty seats.
Shame on the Campbell community for not supporting their student athletes.

Dean,
I was told from someone very close to the situation that the choice came down to either the field turf or the upper level.

Even though the view is amazing, Id rather had turf as well. Jmo.

We haven't even come close to filling up the top or lower levels, or the visitor side. And I'll bet you all the money in my wallet that it's not going to happen on Friday either. Yes the community has changed. But the younger people who left Campbell to live in the suburbs have forgotten their roots. And you know what is really sad is the fact that several Campbell graduates who are physicians now live in Poland. And I often wonder if they contributed donations to the cause for Poland's field turf. Poland put that field in through donations from private citizens and businesses. Last Friday at Campbell, the public address announcer didn't really need to use his microphone. Had he just spoken a little loudly, everyone in the stadium would have heard him just fine without the use of a microphone. That's how quiet the "crowd" was. From my seat in the upper level, I could hear the Newton Falls coaches talking the entire game.

The field was a mess vs. Newton Falls, probably due to the number of games that were played in the rain during the previous week. As I said, there is rain in the forecast just about every day next week. So I expect the field to be a sloppy for the Struthers game, unless they can find a tarp or two somewhere to keep the field partially covered. Hopefully Campbell will have all of their starters back, although one of the substitute receivers did make some nice catches and looks to be a nice target for Reyes come next season.

I've said it here, on FB and everywhere else..... I am tired of the support from all our former classmates who live in the area and come on FB and act all supportive with their bull @"$& comments about once a devil always a devil and blah blah blah. Then we have ten people show up at the game. Disgusting

In a rivalry we can break it all down but will it matter?? It's a whole different game where pride plays a huge role that night and one big play can swing momentum the underdogs way for
Good. If we do nothing else, we better figure out Special Teams in a hurry.

Go Devils!!!!

I looked at the numbers and there are too many different scenarios that listing them all here would be exhausting. But here is my guess of what it will look like:

1. Kirtland Vs 8. Columbiana
2. Monroe vs 7. Springfield Local
3. Crestview vs 6. Cuyahoga Heights
4. Campbell Memorial vs 5. Garaway

That is my prediction of how this will play out. So basically win and your in. There are so many other crazy scenarios out there that we can climb up to the 3 spot or drop to the 6 spot with a win.

Good Luck Red Devils

Basically let's beat Struthers on Friday and let the chips fall where they may. I'm not going beyond that. But if Campbell were to indeed match up vs. Garaway I like our chances in that game. It would be great to be at home in round one. If we finish 6th and end up playing at Crestview, that would also be very good because Crestview is not very far to travel. GOOD LUCK RED DEVILS !!!! BEAT STRUTHERS !!!!

campbell can move up to the 3 spot. win and you can have a home playoff game. not anymore incentive is needed to beat your rival but there it is. this staff has constantly talked about bringing a playoff game to this town and now you have the chance. also, i want to point something out. every year i have to hear from struthers people how their kids are going to play us hard and show up big...but i never hear the same about campbell kids. dont count these kids out, they have stepped up in big games and struthers better hope our kids dont "show up." bottomline is this...were favored for a reason. if we play our game we win. were not backing down from anyone.

and let me remind you if you forgot....a TON of trash talking went on before this game last year, but only one team backed it up. I hope our scoreboard can go up to 52

BigDean, they need to have alumni football players night for the Campbell/Struthers game. They should charge $20 for shirt have the guys in the locker room and on the sidelines. Have a couple guys speak to team. Just a suggestion.

Only one team showed up, huh?

Wasn't it fairly close after 3 and 1/2 quarters? The D couldn't get Ja'les on the ground, I admit. You act like Campbell dominated from start to finish and won 70-0. It was 51-35... that's only 2 possessions. Struthers squandered a great opportunity to get some points and take the lead just before halftime too.

Campbell made more plays, and they deserved to win.

It was hardly one sided though...
