Unless he doesn't win another game, I don't see how Illinois can fire him. A 7-5 or 8-4 record is better than projected before the season.

Like above mentioned, great recruiter, he brings a lot of talent to Illinois, but then does nothing with it.

The good start probably saved him. Illinois's expectations are pretty low
