4 others/sleepers:
-Syracuse (I honestly think the Fine stuff could be a huge deterrent this year, or a rally)
-Xavier (2nd best PG in basketball, behind Taylor)
-Gonzaga (love Pangos (sp) their Freshman PG)
-Mizzou
I didnt have them IN, but I had them as Elite 8 (of course I cant prove it lol), but I do have them as a chance for the FF before the season. I may have been in the minority, but a few journalists had them as a top 2 team in the B12 at least.

Cincinnati keeps on winning, Xavier keeps on losing. Not necessarily a good thing for UC, but it sure is nice the see Xavier fans' pipe dream of making the Final Four go down in flames.

People were saying Crean should be on the hot seat before the year, etc etc. 20 wins was about the ceiling for them, and people were hoping to be fighting for a middle of the spot B1G finish with aspirations of the NIT.
With Indiana's schedule I would only expect them to be 2 games worse than they currently are. Granted, those are a HUGE 2 games to win, but the meat of the schedule is still to come.

I personally still don't think they finish better than 4th in the conference, and 5th wouldn't be shocking. I think it will come down to their final 2 games (MSU and Purdue at home).

Thats fair, before the season I thought UK, OSU, and NCST were loses. Thought ND, Butler and Evansville would be tough games. But between those 6, I would have said 4 losses (5 total). But then I projected a 9-9 Big Ten finish.

I guess I look at the fact that they havent played in but 4 close games and won 3 of them. They blew teams out that pre-season most thought would be close or tough games. I think they have covered every game but MSU. Maybe I just undervalued the team compared to you. I never saw Watford playing this well, Hulls being a legitimate threat at the PG spot but mostly I didnt see Sheehey and Oladipo becoming All-Big Ten type performers (Oladipo this year and Sheehey in future years).

To clarify, I definitely would have thought Butler would be a loss coming into the season, but going into that game I didn't (once they lost to Evansville and needed a huge comeback to get past Gardner-Webb).

The performances have been a lot better (more convincing) than I would have expected, but the W/L is only a couple of games off. If they were worse than 10-4 right now there would be some major issues in my opinion.

9-9 is about what I would have picked in the B1G too, benefited by playing Penn St and Iowa twice honestly. Factoring in the NC Central game late in the year I would have said 20-21 wins heading into the B1G tourney and in pretty good shape to get an NCAA bid.

Pitt loses to DePaul tonight. 11-5 (0-3) with 4 straight losses. Preseason #10 not looking like a tournament team.

Villanova lost by 17 at home to South Florida too. They're 7-8 (0-3). Picked 8th in the BE so not supposed to be great, but I don't think anyone expected it to be this bad.

They are both terrible. Pitt actually has some solid players (Gibbs) but they are just bad right now.

Also, Stanford loses @ Oregon, Washington loses by 18 @ Colorado, Cal loses @ Oregon State, and Arizona is down 7 at half to UCLA.

I feel like it gets said every year the last few years and then never ends up happening, but the Pac-12 looks like a 1 bid league to me.

Jamie Dixon is a horrible horrible postseason coach. Now it looks like he's a horrible regular season coach, too.

The Players already quit on him. WKU was in the Sweet 16 two out of the 3 years...now they suck. Blame McDonald.

Tough way to go out though. Losing your last game because the refs missed that the other team had 6 guys on the court for the game winning layup.

Saw that. They could have easily waited until their next loss.

The problem with these ratings is they dont mean squat. I read every year how the Big Ten is such a power conference yet never cut the nets down! I see the ACC is at the bottom as usual but 2 of the last 3 years the ACC have cut the nets down. That stuff isnt worth the paper its printed on. That holds about as much weight with me as the TOP 25 rankings. Just ask PITT! There's only one #1 in the end and that's the only ranking that matters!

The conference rankings mean very little come tournament time. They might impact number of teams invited and seeding. The strength of a conference is not based on its best teams only. It is a refelction of every team in the conference. and the ACC is off its game this year. This league might only get two bids.

I think someone (NCST or Virginia) will step up and get enough wins, coupled with some wins versus Duke/UNC to get a bid. NCST has the athletes to beat Duke thats for sure, UNC will be a little tougher match-up wise fore either team.

I agree the rankings dont mean much predicting who has the top teams. But it is a good reflection of what conference will have the most teams and highest seeds...which in turn can lead to teams getting further.

Buford can't hit the broadside of a barn, yet keep throwing it up.

Craft still on a slide with his turnovers

Buford playing like shit, and I think Craft is feeling Shannon Scott breathing down his neck a little bit more each game. Thompson, Sully, Weatherspoon and Scott are playng pretty well...Sibert and Thomas, not.

Sloppy foul prone game in first half. But gotta be happy with a 9pt lead with Craft, Thomas and Smith Jr sitting on the bench for the last 10min. Bench came in and did a nice job. Buford can't throw it in the ocean. He is pressing it now, trying to force things to happen. Which isn't his game at all. OSU has to keep pounding it down to Sully. Road games are always tough. Iowa is much improved team this season.
