No doubt Kobe is a great baller and has a high basketball IQ, but no one can deny that he plays in one of the best offensive systems ever created. Guys that play in systems like that don't get invited to the Heisman in college football regardless of their ridiculous stats, because most agree it's just the system. Kobe certainly benefits from being coached by Phil--I would love nothing more than for Phil to come to Cleveland.

He can play QB and reciever in the NFL....I would hope he could coach in the NBA. Is there nothing this man cannot do???

This Kobe vs. Lebron pissing match is starting to get EXTREMELY old. Kobe and Lebron are both great. A lot of us have been blessed to watch these 2 and Jordan play. 3 of the Top 10 players ever already.

Yeah, you kind of got the wrong idea. In the conversation, which started yesterday, of who has the higher basketball IQ--most who understand these things would say LeBron. People that say Kobe are underestimating the offensive system he plays in--the triangle is amazing. But I'm not trying to say the system MAKES Kobe who he is--without it he'd still put up good numbers. It's because I'm not trying to say he has a poor basketball IQ--that's how everyone reacts to something like that. Just because I say LeBron's is probably higher doesn't mean I'm saying Kobe's is poor. A guy like Danny Green isn't going to fly out to LA and be able to replace Kobe in the triangle in 5 years. It still takes a very special player to be as great in that offense as Kobe is--clearly.

What are you talking about? The only reference I made to what you said was to post your exact quote. I did comprehend it. Funny that a day later a guy who is a HOFer and has played with both guys talks about how high LeBron's basketball IQ is. I disagreed with you strongly that Kobe's is higher and now I have a guy who would know better than either one of us coming out with this. LeBron's basketball IQ has always been considered one of his best attributes.

Dude the whole world knows Shaq says very dumb things.. anything to keep his name relevant.

IMO guys like MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Iverson.. they all would be very poor head coaches. They all have such high expectations, I think it would kill them to see their team lose w.out them being able to actually step on the court and help.

I don't think any superstar could be an effective head coach really..

mediocre players usually make good coaches.. guys like Brian Shaw, Eric Snow..

Evidently, you haven't paid too much attention to Shaq's behavioral patterns to realize he pimps up whomever is the flavor of the month(in this case, the Dancing Queen).

LOL, alright well the argument doesn't favor you so it's easy to say that now. When he was "pimping" Kobe I'm sure his words were taken in like the Bible.

TB--I totally agree with you and don't expect to ever see LeBron as a coach. Doesn't mean he couldn't do it--MJ could do it too, but I get what you're saying. Their own legacy makes it tough for them to coach other players--some guys are able to put that aside but most would probably get frustrated.
