Clemson- Yeah, yeah.... ESPN picks them as a top 25 teams every year only to see them stumble. I am sure the four letter network thought they were going to be great again this year (Note: ESPN loves the ACC maybe as much as they love the SEC, but that is another thread discussion) but I had my doubts. Dabo has them playing lights out and a conference crown is in their grasp.
Wake Forest- Staying in the ACC, the Deacs have been a big surprise. They sit with one loss right now and appear to be one of the better teams in the conference this year.
Kansas State- The Wildcats are unfeated, who would have thunk? This just in... Coach Snyder is the best Octogenarian Head Coach in all of college football.
Illinois- The Illini are 6-0. Looks like the Zookster is off the hot seat for now. The game against OSU this weekend will show if they are for real or not.
Rutgers- Is worst to first in the cards for the Scarlet Knights? They currently sit at 2-0 in the conference and their only blemish to date was a 3 pt loss to North Carolina (and Rutgers should have won that one).

Clemson could be in some serious trouble and end up irrelevant if Boyd's injury ends up being serious

Ohio State-surprise in a negative way
Clemson-always under achieves
Nebraska-just not that good
Wisconsin-Just a surprise to me(I didn't believe Russell Wilson was this good)
Florida State- I bought into the NC hype
Boise- not a surprise but poised to get hosed again (this is a legit top 5 team)
SEC-besides Alabama and LSU (best 2 teams in the country) the league appears to be a little down

The only team remaining on their schedule that is worth a damn is TCU. And TCU is underachieving this year.0311sdp;929812 wrote:Boise- not a surprise but poised to get hosed again (this is a legit top 5 team)
If Boise runs the table (and they likely will), they won't get a title appearance.

^^^ Boise is going to run into the same problem TCU and Cincinnati did when they were undefeated in 2009; that is there will be two other teams who are undefeated who are traditional, elite programs. In 2009 it was Texas and Alabama. This year it will be Oklahoma vs. either LSU or Alabama.

We were 55th in the original AP Poll. Not sure how so many people can say we have underachieved recently...haven't been in the top 20 since 2009. We were flat out bad last year.

It's actually normally this way.0311sdp;929812 wrote: SEC-besides Alabama and LSU (best 2 teams in the country) the league appears to be a little down
The past 5 years-ish have shown the cream of the SEC crop (top 2 or so) are better than every conference's top 1 or 2, but the rest of the conference is just a bunch of overrated flavor of the weeks who move in and out of the top 25 who have a few good or great players but aren't a good team.
