Nice article about the Bobcats in The DR today. The 7 - 0 start is a little surprising after getting the late start. The amazing thing is that they really haven't put it all together yet. If they can make it through the "4 games in 7 days" stint that starts this Friday without a loss I'll be shocked. It's not that I think any of those teams are any better then Norwayne but they have to be getting tired.
Smithville always gives Norwayne trouble. Orrville will be out for blood on Tuesday and they always have great great athletes. I know they've only won 1 game but they'll have nothing to lose in this one. Rittman should be over quickly. I think Hillsdale the following Friday will be very tough and I think it's at Hillsdale. If they do manage to win all of those games I think they're going to be hard to beat during the rest of regular season. I would think they'll be hittin on all cylinders by then. When they are it's going to take a very good defensive effort on any teams behalf to stop them. They are averaging between 65 and 70 pts a game without putting it all together yet. That includes several games with the far side of the bench on the court with 3 or 4 minutes to go in the game. I think if anyone in the league is going to beat them they better do it soon.
Davis, Maxwell, Berger and Fry have all proven they can score big. Wallace is starting to return to the "rebounding machine" that he usually is. Harris is only going to get better and Jon Maibach is playing much better then I thought he would. They have the potential to be very good by Tourney time

If Smithville and Orrville don't improve quickly, they will not beat Norwayne. I think both teams have the talent to do so though.
I would just encourage Norwayne people to stop talking about how many points your team scores with the starters in and with the far side of the bench in lol. That is how sports go. If you have a great team, your bench plays more.

1486, those will be two very close games. Wire-to-wire. I sense sometimes that Dalton does not know whether they want to run or play a halfcourt game. I think when they run, it really benefits Chase, Dane, and Jake. However, when they walk it up, Seth gets more involved and it cuts down turnovers. When you walked it up on us, we could not guard you guys in the halg court. Hillsdale gets many good shots on offense, they love to slow the tempo down. I would think it would benefit Dalton to push the tempo on them. Also, you have to have a gameplan to defend Licata. I just don't think teams put enough effort into the defensive end of the court, like they should to stop great scorers. However, Dalton usually keeps the scores in the 40's so that could be to their benefit as well. You would think Hillsdale playing a zone, would allow Dane to potentially have a huge night. But is there anyone for Dalton that can guard Licata 1-on-1? As fas as Northwestern is concerned, any Mark Alberts Jr. coached team can shoot the ball. If Dalton allows them to stay in the game until the 4th quarter, it could be trouble, because Northwestern is fundamentally sound, with balanced scoring. Should be two great games. Lots of team basketball being played, which is great to see.

I think Dalton beats Northwestern but i haven't seen Hillsdale yet. I think they are going to be a little too much for the Dawgs though.

Big game for the Cats tonight. It's also a pivotal game for Smithville. If they lose it they are probably out of the race for the championship already. It should be wild at Smithville tonight. GO CATS!

Dogs come out with a hard fought victory over the Huskies 60-48. Moyer led the Dogs with 25. Looking forward to the BIG game tomorrow night!

If Hillsdale has the perimeter shooting going on, they can hang with Norwayne. If not, it will be another easy win for the Bobcats

I look forward to the rematch with norwayne at dalton - they at least made the cats work for it in their first meeting. First, we have a difficult one tonight. As was said above, Licata will be a tough matchup for them with his size and the fact that he plays on the wing quite a bit. I will be interested to see who Dalton puts on him (maybe some zone?). Dalton does create some problems for teams with their balance and Chase seems to be more aggressive on the offensive end than he was early in the season - is definitely a top 5 player in the league. Should be fun tonight for a battle to be in sole possession of 2nd place at nearly the midpoint of the season.

Dalton led for almost the whole game. Had a 10 point lead heading into the forth but Hillsdale made nice comeback and the Dogs some clutch free throws down the stretch to pull out the Big W!

Licata is the best player I have seen in the WCAL so far this yr. He is better without having to share with Moore and Crossen. The problem for Hillsdale is they don't have Moore and Crossen. Licata's a stud, Mitch Huffman is solid and everyone else is average at best for the Falcons. Dalton was a lot more balanced and had more weapons. Moyer played outstanding - he only had 12 points, but he seemed to assist on every shot with Troyer the recipient of most. Dawgs got a little sloppy late in the fourth, but iced it at the end. Very entertaining game and nice end to a real solid weekend for Dalton.

I think that Norwayne may have one of the best players in the WCAL.
