The linebacking hasn't been that great.

We're at 2 losses already, and we haven't even gotten into the meat of our schedule yet.

dat dude;865580 wrote:The schedule is not that difficult and OSU has reloaded with talent. I would be disappointed if OSU was not 5-0 heading into Lincoln, Nebraska.
OSU has not reloaded with talent. The talent is depleted and young. OSU is nowhere close to 5-0 heading into Nebraska.

1. Our linbackers haven't played bad by any means, our defense has been outstanding except for a couple of runs against Miami.
2. We still have the talent, we should have won the MSU and maybe even the Miami game if our offense had anything that resembled good playcalling and coaching.

I stand by those comments.

That being said with the issues with the offense, getting them to produce enough to beat anyone is a concern.

I agree with you here.

Why does the OP feel the need to call out specific posts?

Sweat has been the only bright spot at LB (and he's not even close to the caliber of a 'A.J. Hawk', 'James Laurinaitis' or 'Bobby Carpenter' even). Storm Klein sucks and Etienne Sabino has been so quiet that the common fan doesn't even know he plays (reminds me a lot of Marcus Freeman).

This team has talent, but it's very young talent.

Because if you're going to say something, then you should be held accountable [for what you say]. I'm tired of people flaming and providing shitty analysis/predictions, and then passing them off as if they're some sort of 'expert'. It just garbage and gets in the way of good analysis that some other posters provide.

Yes, it is. So why would people predict that this is a 2-3 loss team then? That's just asinine.

So you're some fucking expert? I don't see anything wrong w/ OneBuckeye's post regarding the linebackers. Looks like you're another one who needs to step down from your pedestal.

Two of your three examples are two of the top 10 linebackers to play within the last decade. Not being great doesn't mean he's necessarily bad.

Ohio State has some issues, but the defense isn't one of them.

Show me where I claimed to be an expert? All i did was point out OneBuckeye's flaws in his comments. If you can't take the heat, then don't make the claims.

Agreed.

But all I'm saying is this is one of OSU's weaker LB cores in years, and many are acting as if it's your typical LB core. It's not.

Where was the flaw in his post about the linebackers? Like I said....please step down.

Lulz. I'm not perfect. I'm ok with that.

Btw, if you are confusing me with an "expert," that's your problem. I'm just some random OSU fan giving thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less.

With an average offense, the defense has been good enough to be a NC contender.

This accountability stuff works both ways. :)

Yeah I don't have many issues with the defense other than poor tackling at times. They did enough to win both Miami and MSU games.

If the linebacker play was the biggest problem this team had, they would be 5-0 and in the top 5.

I said OSU had a lot of youth and a pretty abysmal linebacking core this year... OneBuckeye said he disagreed and that he thought the LB core was actually pretty talented. While our defense has played lights out, the LB play hasn't been as suggested.

I didn't realize that only experts were allowed to give opinions on an Internet message board.

Lighten up, Francis.

Most of us who are posting love OSU as much as you do and want them to succeed -- so I'm guessing more than a few have their Scarlet & Grey colored glasses on while posting.

Fact of the matter is that if OSU were even getting average QB play and offensive coaching, they'd probably be undefeated right now. The offensive coaching has been nearly inept, and the QB play not far behind...but one could argue that's due to poor coaching and preparation as well.

It makes sense to hold posters accountable for OSU starting the season poorly.

I mean, the performance of the team this year relies entirely on the opinion of those on the OC.

Hahaha this stuff is awesome. Now its not only the SEC trolls calling buckeye fans out its other buckeyes as well. I love it.

I think the only way you could call someone out right now is if they said anything good about the offense.

Okay. Adam Homan then. Sweat is the closest thing to Adam Homan, and I would still say Homan was better than Sweat. Sabino has been a ghost and Klein has been awful.

Agreed. I don't see the point in bitching about the linebackers or defense at all when they are 13th in total defense and 108th in total offense. Yes...108th.
