Court precedent does not support you. I am within my legal right to tell a cop to fuck off, get bent, etc. Not that I would or should do those things. But if I do that and then a cop or someone else I said that to would assault me they would be the ones performing an illegal activity, not me.

I don't care for "well they deserved it" at all. If there is a problem with the law (from an enforcement standpoint, not necessarily civilian standpoint) you must change that law, not disobey it. There is no excuse for the government or police to break the law. (Not saying the police were doing that in every case we've discussed in this thread).

There is plenty of outrage over what happened at Penn State. On this board as well. Head over to the college football forum. The local police failed to control the crowd.

I don't go to that forum so I didn't see that. But I experienced in person and on my Facebook today a lot of "this is BS they shouldn't ruin JoePa's legacy like this" shit. Absolutely ridiculous.

I guess my main thing is that it's really easy for you and I to criticize the Occupy people, the Tea Party people, etc but even if we disagree with them at least they're out there trying to do something and get things changed. We just sit at our computers and argue about shit and maybe vote.

There is a way to do something and get change. There is also a way to do something and fail to get that change. The occupy movement is an epic fail. Choosing the word "occupy" to capsulize the movement was a huge mistake. The word occupy implies force. It implies taking something that is not yours and holding it by force. Freedom and liberty are just the opposite. The whole thing has become a massive clusterfuck. The sad thing is there are some valid points lost in the whole mess.

That is indeed the sad truth. While I'm not a big proponent of wealth redistribution, I'm not going to lie and say I never covet what the wealthy have. I do. I never appreciated the bank bailout's, the Government Motors bailout, etc. for examples.

In that I can certainly understand the initial spark that created the so-called Occupy Wall Street idea. But as usual, these types of things tend to be hijacked by political opportunists and far fringe kooks.
