Thought this was pretty cool. It's newspaper clippings of All-Ohio teams dating back to 1933 (and girls and boys basketball as well).

What a great resource and reference.

Seems that if you weren't from Massillon, Mansfield or a select few other cities pre-1950, you had no chance of being All-Ohio. How about the 1940 year, when all 11 offensive starters for Massillon were named All-Ohio.

All-Ohio sure has changed over the years too. Used to be 11 per team (offense only), now it's 3 or 4 players at every position, a first, second, third team, offense and defensive teams...and special and honorable mention.

Just remember that there were other news outlet at the time that posted their own all state selections.

I know UPI used to do this as well.

Are you talking other outlets as well?

There was INS and a few others besides the AP and UPI.

I also noticed on there that in some years they only have the small school list and omitted the big schools.
