Highland High School is looking for 1 more team to fill its Invitational on December 10th. We have expanded our field to 16 teams. We currently have 15 teams under contract. Teams are as follows: Medina, New Albany, Thomas Worthington, Lima Bath, South Central, Mansfield Sr., Highland, East Knox, Licking Hts., Bexly, Harvest Prep, Fredericktown, Lexington B, Northland, and Danville.

This is an individual pool tournament. The purpose of this tournament is to get 5 good matches. Pools are created based on the number of people in each weight class to maximize the number and quality of matches each kid wrestles. This will be ran on 5 mats. Ideally, with 16 kids, we would have 4 pools of 4, then repool in 4 man brackets for 2 more matches. We do accept extras if spots are available. This tournament runs fast. We only break to make sure repooling is correct. We do everything we can to make sure your best kids wrestle the best kids, while your inexperienced wrestlers get some matches they can compete in.

This tournament has grown from a j.v. tournament 6 years ago to what it is today. In 2008, we had 8 teams who went on to produce 25 district qualifiers, 7 district placers, 5 state qualifiers, and 1 state champ. In 2009, we had 10 teams which produced 38 district qualifiers, 7 district placers, 4 state qualifiers, 3 state placers, and 1 state champ. last year we had 12 teams that produced 32 district qualfiers, 6 district placers, and 2 state qualifiers.
