Earlier today, my father had a heart attack, and fell, causing him to also break his leg in two places.
I didn't find out until a few hours ago, and I spent the last bit of time in the hospital. He's as fine as he can be right now, he'll be going home eventually, but can't move a lot, and won't be able to be very active for awhile, so with that being the case, I will be somewhat moving in with him for probably a month or two (as I'm the only child he has here that's single and without a family, I have the most natural time, though I imagine my siblings will be as present as they can be.)
Everyone that knows me, or knows anything about me, knows how close me and my Father are, and the story behind our relationship. That said, I also didn't want to make a huge thing out of this. But THAT said, The Huddle/Freehuddle/etc. has really been intertwined in a lot of my personal highs and lows over the past 5 or so years, so I thought it best to reach out and share. Despite popular misdiagnosis (IMO, of course) of my personality, I AM actually fine, and not just saying it to ward off discussion and isolate. I'm a realist, I know that this is life, and this is what it does, and this situation could have been a lot more serious. Still, thanks in advance for your thoughts/prayers.

Good lock to you and a speedy recovery to your father.
Look at the silver lining.
You will get to spend alot of quality time with your father that otherwise you may have missed.

Upper,
Prayers from Bellaire! Your Dad couldn't ask for a better son, than one who is willing to step up and take the time. I know, personally, what it's like, as I take care of my parents and have for years.
Just remember that it's OK to be tired and that it is ok for your Dad to get cranky! (it happens when mobility is cut short)
Like somebody already mentioned, this is a great oppportunity to spend some awesome time together!
Best wishes to you and your family!

So sorry, Upper! I will keep your family in my prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for your father. As already mentioned, it could be a blessing in disguise that you get to have this time together that otherwise you'd both be too busy to do. Make the most of it. God bless.
