This is a very interesting read when considering why conferences choose certain schools when they decide to expand.
One thing of note, Rutgers is the most popular college football team in the NY television market, with a sizable lead ahead of Notre Dame, so adding Rutgers would make it more likely for the BTN to get onto TV in New York than adding Notre Dame would. S&L finally has some hard data instead of just anecdotal evidence or alumni numbers to support his argument.
I also found it interesting that the most popular team in America in terms of viewership and support is, yep, The Ohio State University. Michigan is second and Penn State is third, proving yet again that the B1G is the most popular conference in college football.
