I have received these 3 text alerts from ESPN in the past few days:

ESPN NBA - Lebron James tweet: I know he would rather have that W but cam did his thing. Monster game!!

ESPN NBA - Excerpt of D. Wade Tweet: "Morgan Freeman and King James. Both have been OLD since we've known em"

ESPN NBA - Excerpt of LeBron James tweet: "Ronald McDonald and Dwayne Wade. Both 6'2 and wear size 20 shoe"

Also received a text alert a month ago stating that it is ok for NBA players to go to Kim Kardashians wedding....

Figured since there are a lot of people who hate ESPN, we could have a running tab on some of the idiotic things they do.

This text reminded me that Kris Humphries must feel like the baseball player Jimmy in the movie "Bull Durham" after he married the team groupie, Millie.

Player: Wait til I tell Jimmy she has gone down on the whole Carolina League.

Back when Tony Romo was dating Jessica Simpson they spent more time talking about her and her jersey TD than the Cowboys football game.

Employing Mark May and Dan Lebatard.

They also spent countless hours talking about how they went on a weekend getaway during a bye week before their playoff game.

How have we not mentioned that they employ Jemele Hill? Possibly the biggest fail on the network.

Also they were giddy to report baout Mark Sanchez in GQ mag, can't tell how many times I heard the anchor make the white pants after labor day joke thinking it was funny/original. SMH.

I canceled all my text subscriptions. First I canceled CNN because they felt the need to text me at 3am with the breaking news that Ashton Kutcher hit 1,000,000 twitter followers. Next I canceled ESPN because they texted me something about some stupid tweet that an NHL player made. It's almost like if they go a certain time without anything of actual importance, they just text random shit.

Not sure what the bigger fail is, CNN texting that he hit a mil or that a million follow him on twitter.

The former. The latter is a given, considering how many stupid people there are. The former, though...just sad that how many twitter followers someone has is considered news that's important enough to be send as a text by a news organization.

To counter the Huddle's offer of a subscription to ESPN the Magazine, Justin decided that memberships here would come with a "gay side of sports" text program to show the sort of thing he can offer. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Oh yeah there's nothing more irritating than the stuff ESPN deems mobile-text worthy. The all time worst came last year when they sent one out about Adam Dunn signing with the White Sox. I've received a few the past several days about tennis, too. :(
