Time for the next opponent: Copley 1-1. Main threats: Argerus Turner and Louie Gigliotti. Bring it on.

Could be a very high scoring game. I'm taking Orrville.

Should be a great test for us....hope we can avenge last year's lost.

As wins and losses go, we're perfect in 2011...but anyone watching with a trained eye knows this team is far from it's peak. Kind of scary really.

Liked Joel at RB, waiting for him to get into open space a time or two. Nice to know Nick Graber and even Martavius Dyson can tote the rock if need be as well.

The balance between running and passing has been nice. Penalties were cut in half from week 1. Just have to eliminate on those back breaking turnovers. A good team (like Copley) will make us pay.

Not sure what Copley has defensively. I know Jackson shredded them pretty good on the ground if they have to load the box to stop the run that will leave turner and Brenner 1-1 which I think favors us. I know they lost the stud MLB who went to Oklahoma for wrestling. He was tough. Their RB Turner and QB can both hurt you with their legs Should be a very good matchup. Go riders

Dyson looked good in the reserve game. Definitely has speed. We're deep at running back. Mason ,Zook and Graber looked fairly interchangeable.

To start the year I thought our success depended on the offensive line and that has been a pleasant surprise. Limiting turnovers and penalties and consistent play from our qb seems to be the limiting factors now. Its early and those penalties and turnovers will be eliminated. My thoughts are that Kyle has made better decisions about when to tuck it and run or take the loss are better than last year, but we still over throw too, many recievers and make the occasional mistake on the flat outside routes. It just may be that we avoid calling those plays, but usually we run those routes to set up other plays. Overall we seem to be progressing and Copley will be another challenge where we'll have to move it up another notch to come away a winner.

Great posts already about this game. One thing I would add is that we all make mistakes...even professionals make mistakes. What Kyle has done in a red rider uniform is pretty impressive and we need to support him because he is our best throwing QB. I think he gives us the best chance to win and let's remember this, Friday will be his 17th game on varsity and he is only a junior.

I am very impressed and pleased with our running game. Just goes to show our line coaches know what they are doing and do a phenomenal job....as do all the coaches!!

5knots, quick question for you, is slaughter still calling the plays or is davault now doing it? I noticed in the orrviews they had no offensive coordinator listed, which is what slaughter was.

Definitely wasn't trying to be negative just commenting on areas of improvement. The kicking game made leaps this last week. After enough games we will have it figured out what we do best.

Here's another hand to add to your own on the back patting! The More You Know: BRF nicknamed Sly "Fly Swatter" back when he was a student. This week is Revenge' Week! Go Riders!

I don't think Coach Slaughter is calling the plays since he doesn't have a head set on during the game.

Orrville is sitting at 4th in the computer points. I know its early but we have to keep on winning. THese next 2 games will be big for us if we can win.

Thanks, I haven't been to a game yet...Indians game week one, and calling hours this last Friday night so I haven't been able to see who has headsets on, who goes up in the box etc. I know with him being the head basketball coach he.wanted a little less responsibility with football. I would just assume coach Davault is calling plays now (he was the o coordinator before being promoted).

Good luck Riders! I have seen many Orrville teams over the years, even back in the all-ohio league, this could end up being one of your better ones. Keep it rollin!

I'm taking Orrville in this one. I'd love to watch them in person in a game where they have to try for a full 4-quarters and open up their playbook. They are capable of huge things this year.

Friday will be a great test for us, we make mistakes and Copley has a team that will make you pay. We owe them for last year's game.
