Showing more firepower than a lot of us expected and a much better defense than BG has had in a while, the Falcons won their opener at Idaho 32-15 last night.

Now Idaho is a middle of the pack WAC team (now without Boise) so I don't want to read too much into this win. That said, BG is coming off its worst football season ever, and if Clawson can turn this around this year with 58 players who are freshmen and sophomores -- the future could be very bright.

The Falcons rolled up nearly 500 yards of offense, including almost 200 rushing, while the defense only allowed a little over 50 yards rushing and about 250 yards overall to Idaho.

Here's the stats.

In a related note Toledo put up 50 something against New Hampshire and had 300 yards passing and 300 yards rushing.

Idaho>New Hampshire

New Hampshire's football stadium is smaller than a number of Ohio High school facilities.

I agree that the UT/NH game had so business on this thread, but to say Idaho>NH is laughable

As Lee Corso would say, not so fast my friend.

UNH has had the following record the past few years:
2004 10-3
2005 11-2
2006 9-4
2007 7-5
2008 10-3
2009 10-3
2010 8-5

During that stretch of time, the Vandals have had one winning season, their glory year of 8-5 in 2009. They finished with 1 or 2 wins a number of times during that same stretch.

As far as stadium size goes, Idaho plays in a 16,000 seat stadium. UNH seats 9500. There is no reason to act like Idaho is so much better. Besides, it is not the size of the stadium that counts, its how you use it.

Yep. And NH's stadium is SMALLER, by almost half.

And what difference does the record make when the WAC has clearly been a stronger and better conference than New Hampshire's league.

Also, BG was playing on the road and UT was at home.

My God, I just realized New Hampshire is in the lower division of the NCAA (whatever it's called now). At least Idaho is a mid major in the big boy division.

Congrats? Are you a BG alum? It'd be the only reason for someone getting so pissy over someone saying Toledo also won their opener.

UT has its own thread. Why the need to come over here? I guess you must be a UT alum; it explains why you'd get so pissy about being called out for coming onto a BG thread.

I'm not pissy at all, just found it odd that you went on the offensive and immediately started discrediting NH when Toledo's win was mentioned. Both teams got off to good starts last night. Hopefully they can build on those wins and meet each other for a MAC championship later on.

I'm not wild about MAC teams playing lower division schools, even though I realize they have to do it to get home games some of the time. For example, BG will be playing Morgan State next week in BG. Not wild about such scheduling, but I understand the problem of getting enough home games for needed revenue out of conference.

Um what difference does it make as to how big their home stadium is? New Hampshire has had a solid program. Chip Kelly actually came from New Hampshire

New Hampshire would probably give Idaho all they wanted. Heck they might even beat them

The kibbie dome is a tough building to win in. Props to BG
