Struthers and Girard are both 1-0.

Struthers is coming off of a 29-9 win over Jefferson Area.

Girard is coming off of a 49-14 win over Akron Manchester.

Last year, Girard edged Struthers by a score of 16-13, on a Dan Graziano to Landon Smith TD pass inside the final 2 minutes.

Can the Cats slow down the Indians high powered offense, or will Girard continue their winning ways against Struthers?

Hard to say. I expected a more dominant performance against JA but am also hearing about how bad Manchester is expected to be this year after graduating 30+ seniors.

Week 1's are always a bit deceiving.

Is Girard really as good as they made people believe last night? Or is Manchester just so young and inexperienced that Girard just had their way with them.

This will be a good test for both clubs. I'm expecting another close one between the 2 schools. let's hope for a clean played, injury free game.

Good luck.

Girard is tough I'm sure. But looks like Struthers is too.. Cant wait for the final score. I seriously would have gave Struthers the win before Friday. But I'm holding back know. I just found out i stink at the Blitz picks. lol. If i was to have to pick i have to sorry go wit Girard. But i might change my mind when i find out more about Akron. I was told they was young last year beating out Campbell. Now I'm hearing they graduated all but 2 starters last year.

Struthers handled them in the second half, had troubles in the first though. Maybe first game Jitters.

Struthers ran maybe 2 different pass plays all gamer and ran your standard power formation. Seems to me like Asher just wanted to get past this game without giving girard much to look at for this week. The cats will be ready for this game.

Anyone approaching Girard should just do what we did. Run it down their throat and make them stop you. If they can't it'll be a long night. If they do? Then mix it up. I think Girard is weaker defensively than they were last year.

If Manchester lost 30 seniors like i'm told, i don't think Girard is gonna be much different from last season. Maybe worse. Cochran clearly ran it up to perhaps scare Struthers or intimidate them,. I don't see it happening.

Struthers losing Mallis on the first play of the game last night did not help. Surprized Stewart didnt get the ball that much last night. Look for struthers to get Wilburn the ball more having a great kick return that almost went to the house.

Not sure. Maybe his knee. He didn't go back in the game. He looked like he was limping on the sideline afterward. The trainers were stretching his leg out, so I don't think he tore anything. Maybe a sprain? It's one of those injuries where it's either not as bad as it looks, or it's worse than it looks.

That's devastating...

Kunzer, Stewart, Pollifrone, Kimbrough, the offensive line, the receivers... everyone needs to step their games up a bit now.

Man that sucks, it seems like that kid gets bit by the injury bug every year. Has he gotten through a full season?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, we lost a very valuable senior in week 2 as you know but that was for the year. My heart goes out to any kid that's gotta lose even part of his senior year, let alone the entire thing.

I have to agree on this one. No way should you use your best players on kick off unless you have nobody on the kick off team. And i highly doubt that struthers don't. Sad to hear this happen. I hope this doesn't affect struthers to much. Rooting for you to put a L on Girard.

Nick P came in and did very good things on both sides of the ball. Is he mallis? No but he can do alot of things mallis can't.
