No love for Lancaster? Only lost 2 seniors (1 contributor), but 2 JR High State placers moving up. Beat Pick North head to head in a dual. Won the sectional by 45 points over second place Westerville North followed by Dublin Scioto, Dublin Jerome and Kilbourne. Not sure how they are not at least on this list.Monkey Man;868430 wrote:1. Team strength is very hard to determine at this point. Many things factor in...certainly, in dual, a team needs to be deep. Some of those teams lost a lot of key people or underperformed last year. I think you'll see lots of surprises in the top 10, but certainly there are a few constants based on returners.
I will say this: Lancaster needs to be on that list.

I would give anything to see a marysville olentangy dual, gotta believe marysiville has too much firepower though.

Yes - They are scheduled for either the last or next to last dual of the year. I think it is at Olentangy.

Not exactly sure about this year, but I was at the dual last year. Below is my best recall of what took place when the two dueled last year. I'm not exactly sure of who wrestled what weight class for either team (there was some moving around) but I think this is how the scoring went by weight Very exciting match which came down to the last two weight classes.Monkey Man;869019 wrote:Anybody want to take a shot at breaking this down by weight class ?
103 – Torti over Sparks by decision 3 (O)
112 – Forfeit (Massey doesn’t make weight) 6 (M)
119 – Fiorucci by major decision 4 (O)
125 – Forrider over Patrick Ryan by major decision 4 (M)
130 – Caserta by pin 6 (O)
135 – Fosco by major decision 4 (O)
140 –Bridges over Boyd by decision 3 (O)
145 –Brady loses with major decision 4 (M)
152 – Hetterscheidt pins 6 (O)
160 – Miller over Gadd by decision 3 (M)
171 – Burns pins Armpriester 6 (M)
189 – Miller pins Sheppard 6 (M)
215 – Stinemetz decision over Taylor 3 (O)
Hvt – Young pins Thirkield 6 (O)
Final Score Olentangy 35 Marysville 29
Olentangy loses Caserta, Hetterscheidt, and Gadd. I think Marysville only loses one senior who wrestled Fiorucci really tough. Marysville did a great job keeping Olentangy from scoring bonus points in a number of matches. The new 195 weight class and elimination of a middle weight probably plays to Marysville's strength (upper weights) and hurts Olentangy. I could see one of these teams winning their division of the OCC but the other team winning at district.

Never under estimate Jason "the Jacket" Allen. Has 4 returning district qualifiers and 3 district alternates. Beat Lancaster and Pick. North in a dual last year. Should have a better team than last year even with losing Hunter and Brunner.

pinem07: Just so you know, that term does NOT put you on his good side. In fact, just the opposite. I am convinced he likes his job/role more than he hates me. And for that, I am grateful.
