Reports say there is mutual interest between the Reds and Jamey Carroll.

I feel like he would be an upgrade to a lot of guys on offense and he can play 2B, 3B, and both outfield corners.

He is a solid utility guy.

this talk started about a week ago, i think if they really wanted him more would have happened by now.

he's a solid player, but this organization is loaded with utility guys. if they would just move BP to SS at try Frazer at 2nd i think they would be better off.

carroll wouldn't be playing in the outfield but he'd be a solid backup to rolen since he needs routine rest.

There are few better utility players than Carrol. The guy was invaluable to the Tribe the past few years, substituting in many positions, playing good defense and solid offense. He's a tough strike out. The only reason the Tribe is not signing him is $$$$. For the team that gave the Phil-grims Cliff Lee for some colored beads and a single A pitcher with a sore arm....anything more than the league minimum is out of the question.

Buster Olney's twitter said he's choosing between LA Dodgers and OAK. Cleveland is out of the running.

EDIT: It'll be LA Dodgers, pending a physical

The Reds are handcuffed financially, and this year will be a rebuilding year.

because they won't spend the $1.5-2 million that would be necessary to sign a player of Carroll's caliber.

What have they been doing for the last decade?
