With Ohio State missing 3 key players, and Pryor gone, and Miami seemingly in jeopardy of losing some key guys including Jacory Harris and Travis Benjamin to name a few among many, does this add or subtract from your interest?

I'm the biggest OSU homer there is, but this game will certainly get national attention....for all the wrong reasons.

Obviously the "Violations Bowl" will get a lot of press for the wrong reasons. That said, its still a huge game on the national scene for this year. The Miami investigation is just kicking off and we know how long these take. With 72 players named with cooberating evidence against them, the Miami situation looks like death penalty waiting to happen, but we have to wait and see what sticks and it will take months to sort this out. By the time they finish, this season will have played out and Ohio State and Miami are players in their conferences.

I think that's what will be interesting. Miami may still be at full strength for the OSU game. But, will Miami try to get ahead of it and suspend players before then?

The initial feeling is "it's Miami" so they aren't going to be pro-active at sitting players who might have eligibility issues -- but don't forget you've also got a board of trustees and a president who are going to be embarrassed as hell about what's going on. They have to make a choice whether to be defiant (like USC was...and look where it got them) or cooperate like OSU and try to minimize the damage.

Donna Shalayla, even though she got majorly duped by this booster, doesn't strike me as someone who will mess around and wait. So I expect there to be pretty quick evaluations of players who are in jeopardy of losing eligibility, and for Miami to sit them for this game.

Anytime the Bucks can beat Miami is Okay with me. If they set out some guys then great, makes us even. If anybody thinks this witch hunt is over, you are mistaken. Every major D-1 program has problems like this.

I hope news agencies keep up with trying to hold programs accountable with REAL evidence that can corroborate statements made.

I would love to see college sports cleaned up... will it ever be perfect? Doubtful, but it doesn't seem like anyone recently feared retribution. Hopefully this scares people into playing by the rules.

If by news agencies, you mean Yahoo sports. Specifically Robinson and Wetzel. They are the only ones with balls and no Conflicts of Interest to ever pull something like this off.

I agree with Scooter. I would prefer to have Jacory Harris ON the field for that game. He might be OSU's best weapon, even though he wears a Miami uni.

In fact, if you look at the top ten schools to win or be awarded National Championships since 1936, there are four B1G teams (Nebraska included). Prior to this decade, when was the SEC ever dominate? And I mean really dominate?

Historic success has no bearing on OSU's 2011 schedule. Calling it "easy" may be a little extreme, but its certainly not a difficult schedule. I'd guess by the end of the year it will be outside of the top 50 in the Sagarin rankings.

Well, if you're going to open that up you should really have some kind of criteria in mind as to what is successful. According to the site below, the SEC is the top conference of all-time. At present, they have their decade rankings down but I recall in the past the SEC being at the top in something like 4 of the last 6 decades (I believe some combination of the Big XII/Big 8 was #1 in the other two decades).

In the quarter century breakdown, the Big XII is #1 from 75-99 and the SEC is #1 for the two quarter centuries before that. The Big Ten didn't win one of those either, as the Ivy League is #1 from 00-24.

Yes Sir. Minnesota. 1936 marks the "Poll Era", and the Golden Gophers have four recognized national championships (although their last win was in 1960). I'm not saying those teams are dominate today, just that historically, the B1G is filled with teams that have a notable history to their name.

I understand that historical success has absolutely no bearing on OSU's "easy schedule". I was just saying, from a conference standpoint - yes, the conference down south has dominated the last five years in college football. But outside of their five year terror on College Football, in what other decade did the conference down south dominate? My point was that yes, the conference down south has history and tradition (and as of late, a five year NC winning streak) but historically the B1G has been just as good. (Minus the last five years)
