Like in the past year?

I'm planning a trip in late October....flights and hotel already booked.

I'm reading things about banning the sale of herb/hash to tourists. I've been researching and can find nothing that says this in set in stone and if it does happen it could possibly go into effect next year. Anyone know the deal?

I went for a few days in '07 and had one hell of a time. I will be pretty damn pissed if I can't attempt to have a similar good time.

I couldn't find much regarding an actual date it goes in effect. This article says no real time table.

Its a really cool city. Just going for a few days in the middle of my stay in Copenhagen. I'm going with a few friends....its their first time in Europe. Should be a blast.

Sorry man, was there in 2009, had no issues with purchasing the goodies. Seems crazy that they would do that, seeing it is such a huge part of the culture (and draw to the city).

I did hear earlier this past year they passed a bill regarding the sale to tourist and it was going to be banned. Just not sure as of when.

I'm not sure what you're getting at lol...but I'm not worried.

I've stayed in hostels in several cities throughout Europe, just gotta do your research and weed out the shady places. I've only had one bad experience in Madrid. A few classmates (females go figure) booked a hostel in this grimy ass area.

I was referring to the movie "The Hostel". Have you not seen it?

But seriously, it seems like it would be pretty stupid on their part to ban the sale of pot to tourists. Their local economy would lose a ton of money.

I just discovered this recently. A girl I know all through the UK and Ireland doing this. Didn't pay a dime for hostels/hotels. Its something I wish I would have done a few years back right after I finished school.

two good friends of mine just got back from Amsterdam, you're going to be able to get pot wherever you go, so don't worry about that (not that you seemed worried).

Nice! It wouldn't make or break the trip, we're only there two days and there is plenty to do. I just want my friends to see Amsterdam for all that it is.

According to the article I posted, a quarter of tourists visit the coffee shops and 1 in 10 say they come especially to frequent coffee shops. I'd be really surprised if this tourist ban ever really comes to fruition.
