I used to get it bad as a kid. it sucks. Robitussin always worked for me but that shit is nasty.

At the very first sign of bronchitis (yes, I got it at least once a year), I get Mucinex and start taking it and I have avoided bronchitis for the past 4 years. Mucinex rocks!
