He went on to play. Baseball at Ohio University and was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the first round. He is at the AA level im Mobile AL currently.

OK. I was just thinking about his sr. year then. My gosh, you have to wonder how Glenville did not win state with that pitch, and catch combo.

Omar Provitt- Warren Harding

I will throw out one that impressed me, not sure if he's the best. But Sam Crenshaw of Youngstown Rayen, maybe 15 years ago, made an incredible run into the East end zone at Harding Stadium, starting left, then going all the way around to the right against a pretty decent D.

And I would feel like the thread was somewhat incomplete if I didn't mention MoBo, Maurice Bougard, who may have been the fastest that I have seen, and two plays that he made stood out to me. The first was against Aurora going into the north End Zone up the right side line at Fawcett, I don't think I have ever seen anyone take one to the house that fast. The second I did not actually see in person, but it was late in the OVAC All-Star game, going up the right side line, and that run after catch was pretty impressive.

How fortunate were we to have him on one side, Stevie Davis (whose name will most likely head the list of best D-backs that I have seen), Zach at QB and a couple nice RBs. There are teams that may never have that much talent at one time, and kudos to our staff for guiding them to two State Championships.

You may have slight dyslexia

Tough question because so many greats were moved to QB by the high school coach.

Ivan McCartney of Miramar was unstoppable in the state title game a couple years ago. Last I heard he went to WVU.
Reche & Bubba Caldwell played both QB & WR in Tampa.

Athletically, Manningham, fundamentally, Anthony Gonzalas (sp). Not that Gonzo wasn't athletic, because he was, but he ran such great routes and had such good instincts.

Orrville guys: Marcell Denson, Renauld Ray, Tommy Brenner were all great receivers.

This is a hard topic...pass-heavy teams have only been "in style" since the early 90's, so the body of work is only 20 years...and usually it's the QB who receives all the attention, not the WR.
