I have a question.....

Have any of you ever bought a Dell Product from an outside source {BestBuy,Amazon,etc...)?

If so.....can you purchase an extended warranty from them if you didnt buy it from them?

I'm looking into buying a laptop

I believe it's between $200-$250--and you need to call the Geek Squad at your local Best Buy

Be sure to take your Dell to BestBuy for repairs. The geeks wont snoop or make a personal copy of everything on your hard drive. I promise.

Ty the Dell Laptop you are buying is non-unit made in Xiamen, China; Eldorado du Sol, Brazil; Penang, Malaysia; did the Union Boss give you any direction ... Once again the Union Management failure..

Laptop made in America; http://www.computersmadeinusa.com/laptops/

Every location is NOT different. They're all thieves. Don't take it to Geek Squad.

Just contact Dell and tell them you want the warranty.

I've bought 2 computers from Dell over the phone. Go through the model & specs you're interested in, then when they give you a price, act disinterested and like you're second-guessing yourself. At some point almost every salesperson will as you "So, what can I do to get your service TODAY?" Then you say "I'd buy it right now if I could get it for [$200 less]." I've saved as much as $300 on my computers.

Dell makes solid computers, the only disadvantage I can see is there low watt ratings on there power supplies and the fact that it is much harder to overclock a dell's CPU IMO.

I have had so much better luck with Toshiba computers over Dells. I don't think I have owned a Dell that didn't need something replaced within the first year.

Ty, if you don't mind me asking, what'd you end up paying, and where did you get it (online, retail store, etc.)?
