I suffered with it for a while and was on Nexium. My fix for it was changing jobs. I still get a little heartburn every now and then, so I pop a couple of Tums and a glass of water.

Prilosec 2x a day.
Got a prescription from my doctor and it's considerably cheaper than over-the-counter.

Loose the belly fat. It puts pressure on the stomach and forces the acid upstream. I used to take pills as well. They work but only mask the real problem. Get off your ass and run.

LOL. I know. Biking works too.Curly J;860949 wrote:You sound like ccrunner.
When I looked like I was in my 3rd trimester and I choked up shit at night I knew something had to be done. I love good food and drink so I hit the road.
I try to run a couple of 5m on the weekend. Sometimes I substitute with a 30-40m bike ride. The bike can be a little hard on the ass. Nothing like a thick porterhouse and beer after a good run or bike ride.

I live only 2m from my office. We have four drivers in my family with two cars. During the weak I catch a ride with either my kids during school or my wife then run home. Believe it or not even in the dead of winter. Nothing like running in the snowflakes.

I stopped eating after 9:00 pm and it hasn't been a problem since then. But it does suck when it happens.

Make sure you treat it before it progresses to Barrett's esophagus. That is where the damage is such that you are at much higher risk of developing cancer.

Yeah, I have it pretty bad. My main problem is that I have bad dysplasia. Dr. put me on the strongest stuff. Been on it for three days, so we'll see if it helps. I have a feeling I'll be getting an endoscopy in the future.
