UC AD (and former Akron AD) Mike Thomas is the new AD at Illinois. I am going to guess one of his first agenda items will be to fire Ron Zook and find a replacement.

Sad to see him go, he made some tremendous hires while at UC. Illinois is getting a good one

I think it was his time to move on. Thomas made some good hires, but he struggled in other areas such as fund raising, football and basketball stadium expansion/new facilities and community outreach. UC needs someone with a little fire on their belly to kick things up a notch.

Gotta think Zook is on the hot seat... probably needs an 8 or 9 win season with 1 or two wins over teams they shouldn't to hold onto his job
