This is absolutely disgusting. I don't know if any of the parents on here read these books to their kids, but having something like this in a book made for 3rd graders and under is sickening. The prison style jumpsuit really adds a nice touch, I think. NOT.

prison style jumpsuits? first, look at the links, it isnt orange, its red. and i have never even read these books, but the character always wears that clothing.

Ian Woodwark Falconer (born 25 August 1959) is an American illustrator, children's book author, and costume and set designer for the theater. He has created 30 covers for The New Yorker as well as other publications. Falconer is best known for the Olivia series, which features a young pig and her many adventures, which was inspired by the birth of his first niece and his desire to give her a special "first" present. Born in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Mr. Falconer, who graduated from The Cambridge School of Weston, studied art history at New York University and painting at Parsons School of Design and Otis Art Institute.

This is dumb. Who is "very pleased" when they are getting searched for weapons? Who writes stories for children promoting the pleasure of a security search?

I got flagged by the TSA two weeks ago today. Body scanner, luggage search, even rifled through my checked bag simply because I had a metal back to a button on my shorts. Fucking ridiculous.

TSA has nothing to do with this book, i could care less what this guy writes about or does.

Just looking at it quickly I thought it was a training manual picture for Vatican Police as they prep a new alter boy, as a group of hungry Bishops waits anxiously in the next room.
