I'm looking to buy a set of clubs but honestly have no idea what to look for. I would say I'm a beginner so I don't need a $600 set but I don't want anything super cheap that will break in a year.

What do you guys recommend?

PING G10 or G15. I have G5 and love them (don't make these anymore). Go get fitted -first set I did this with and helps alot.

Get a cheap set at Dicks. For a beginner you don't need anything nice.

Any name brand set that has been closed out is a good option. Get fitted for sure... shaft flex and lie angle are very inportant. You can get great clubs @ reasonable prices.

I just bought a set of Callaway X-18 irons off global golf for $220. They were very lightly used. I have bought clubs a few times from that site, and they have been really good about rating the clubs properly (fair, good, very good, excellent). The x-18s hit very straight. I would recommend them.

Don't be afraid to buy used. Irons don't go bad for a longgg time, as long as the grooves are in pretty good condition and not scratched up, you're fine.

I got my Titleist 690 MBs used full set for $175 2 years ago on Ebay. I would recommend it (Ebay).

What do you guys think of these?

edit: can't link to them bc the site is blocking dicks sporting goods.

The ones I'm looking at are the Maxfli Men's 10 Revolution Graphite Set and the Acuity Men's Voltage 16-Piece Complete Set

It shouldn't be blocking. What is it saying?

Anyone have any recommendations for a good place/person in Central Ohio to get fitted for clubs? I want someplace that will both fit me, and then make or order the set of clubs I want, fitted to me.
