Anyone have any good job quitting stories? In high school i quit my cashiers job at a super market on the spot while the manager was yelling at me as i walked out the door.

Not me personally, but I used to work in a restaurant with a guy who constantly made fun of a fat girl who also worked with us. He would never give her a break. He also liked to brag about how much beer he could drink. (claimed it took a case to give him a buzz.) One night at a party he got drunk and slept with her. Everybody heard about it at work and we were waiting for him the next day. As soon as the door opened everyone busted up laughing and he turned around and never came back. I haven't seen him since. lol

I used to work at a horrible call center and some asshole customer was whining about something that was out of my control and was his own fault. After taking about five minutes of crap from him, he made some ridiculous demand which I told him, we could not fulfill. The conversation then went like this:

CUSTOMER: (agitated) You're telling me that you won't help me! I'm YOUR boss!! I'm the only reason you get paid!
ME: (calm) Actually, I found a better job and just turned in my two week notice, so I'm not exactly dependent on putting up with crap from assholes like you. So, I don't really care.
CUSTOMER: (pissed off) Are YOU talking to ME?!
ME: (still calm) Yeah, why don't you just shut the hell up.
CUSTOMER: (seeing red) HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!!!
ME: (calm, but with a big smile on my face) Go f--- yourself. I quit.

I promptly gathered my few items I had and walked out the door, taking a 10 day break before I started my new job.

Not me but a kid I worked with at a grocery store in high school called our boss a b*tch over the loudspeaker. He swiftly walked out the front door after that.

Screw you, I said it would take a case before I would bang her that night. She even let me bang her mom a couple days later and we now have 3 kids together, I still make fat jokes about her when she comes over to the house to visit her mom.

Not me but when i worked at a resteraunt we had a girl who was a host call off. That night most of us who worked there went out to a bar that Girls Gone Wild was at. While we were there we see the girl who had called off up on stage going crazy. (The girls by the way was a goodie to shoes). She got nude on stage and basically showed everyone everything. The next morning the servers are sitting in our pre work meeting talking about last night when our manager hears us telling the story to a couple people who hadnt went out. When she walks in the door our manager ask her if she was feeling better and then drops the how was GGW last night. She gets real red and just starts yelling that her lawyers gonna get her off any DVD and for all of us to F*** off and walked out.

We also had a manager get fired for letting an employee take her alcohol out of the place in a to go cup. We didnt know he was getting fired and when he walked out he had his leather Yankees coat on. One server yells his name and starts pointing and laughing at him b/c the yankees were losing to the indians. About a half hour later our manager calls us all in and tells us he had to fire our other manager needless to say our friends felt like an a**.

I had an employer call the cops before they fired me to make sure it went smoothly. I laughed when I found out. They only did it because i'm big, had nothing to do with anything I had done in the past.

My brother had a string of about ten years where he refused to work during the summer. He mostly lived with my parents til he was like, 30, and stashed his money while he worked so he could do shit he wanted to do. We bought a houseboat together several years ago and I've sinced sold my half to him. He lived on it for about 9 months out of the year once we got that. He's doing fine now and manged to keep a steady job for the last few years. Anyway, one of his summers, here's how the quitting a job went on the first day it was really nice (it was some dickhead phone sales job, but he was the top salesperson all six months he was there):

Him: Damn. It's a little too nice out to be working.
His boss: Huh?
Him: Yeah, I gotta go.
His boss: Um.....okay. Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow.
Him: No, it's a little too nice out to be working.......for the summer. I won't be back.

He traveled around the country for the next three months.

In 1996 I took a sales position with a company and on my first day I knew this place wasn't for me. I called my former employer around 10:00 and arranged for them to pick me up around lunch time so I could return to work there. Here is how the conversation went with my (at the time employer)

Me: "what time can I go to lunch today?"
Employer: "anytime you want."
Me: "how long to we get for lunch?"
Emploer: "take as much time as you need, we are working a long day today."

At noon, I snuck out the back door, hopped into a car with my old/new boss drove to my new/old job and never looked back.

At times I want to return to the place I left in such a rude manner, and say, "I am back from lunch, who the fuck is that sitting at my desk?"
