Even if panama just draws with Mexico it will set them up nicely with USA likely sending out a lesser squad and Costa Rica will want to still win that last game...

Some minor changes in the USMNT roster for Tuesday's matchup in Panama.

Jermaine Jones, Timmy Howard, Matt Besler, and Landycakes have been removed from the squad. Klinnsman has already announced Brad Guzan is the starter in goal.

I know I will end up cheering for the USA, because I just can't cheer for my teams to lose if I'm watching. But a loss here would be just fine with me after the fact if Costa Rica beats Mexico by at least 2 goals lol.

Maybe in terms of reaction/instinct ability at the moment. Howard has lost a step since the last WC. But what he brings in experience, communication, leadership and ability to get the defense to work as a cohesive unit cannot be matched by anyone else on the roster. For those reasons alone, no Howard is a loss.

Was a complement to Guzan more than a knock of Howard. He's a beast in the EPL.
