USA just beat Germany and Bosnia, who are topping their groups in qualifying and are tops in CONCACAF qualifying which is, imo, the 3rd toughest region. I think the USA is a top 15 teams in the world right now, so I think the ranking is accurate.
A team like Colombia is not a top 3 team in the world...they are ranked to high.
It's great to see France sucking! England needs to be good, but they are getting close to being in the same situation as Mexico -- wipe out everyone from the top down to the equipment manager.
Colombia has Falcao!

And we didn't have all of our starters either. So?
We needed the momentum. The USMNT isn't in a situation right now to say, "we can take certain friendlies off because our national team is top tier." The Germany friendly came in the middle of Hex matches. Keep the momentum going. Keep the attack up. Keep the fans in it. Set the tone for what the USMNT can be.
Jurgen has done more for new players and player pool than ANY other national team manager -- to my recollection. I never saw any previous coach bringing players through the system like Jurgen has done. And...the USMNT had a 12 game win streak going. That says some positive things -- regardless of "B team" opponents. Funny thing is, the previous USWNT coach (Pia) played a cupcake schedule of friendlies and she never got too many criticisms of her W-L-D record.

Forlan is done. Going to Brazil for club ball sealed his retirement.
