This Saturday we are headed to North Royalton for my oldest daughter's 25th birthday. She is having a party at a local bar where her and her friends hang out, and they are having karaoke. I have never in my life done this, nor do I really want to. But she has been harassing me all week about picking my songs, and I know she will force me to do this. She has heard me sing, so I'm guessing that I can't be too horrible if she wants me to get up in front of her friends. That, or she's setting me up.

So all you experienced karaoker's out there, what are your favorite tunes? Is it best to do it early in the evening, before I've had a few drinks, or should I wait until later and hope that I sound better to a bunch of drunk kids? Help!

I am tone def as hell and can't sing but I still like to do it especially if I have been drinking!

This is correct.

I typically stick with David Allan Coe or Johnny Cash when I do karaoke. Also, live band karaoke = GOAT.

I think I sang a song with a group of other people once but I was blacked out so I am just going off what I heard. I have a turrible voice so I would never sing on my own or if I was sober. I would be too embarrassed.

Guess I could always make my hubby sing a duet with me. Except the only one that comes to mind is Islands in the Stream. Pretty sure he's not flying for that.

"Islands in the Stream" would be a good choice, in my opinion.

Or you could go with Sonny and Cher, "I Got You Babe."

Make sure you sing a song others know. Also make sure you have a drink in your hand while singing an have had about 15 before.

got a buddy of mine that loves to do Karaoke, his songs of choice "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia or "Foolish Games" by Jewel. He's actually pretty good, and is worth the luls to see him up there performing.

From what I remember from your previous Avatars, I’d expect you to pick Running down a dream or American Girl. You can’t sing worse than the original singer of those songs, just mumble a lot.
