Dozens of Division I football prospects -- including one of the nation's most sought-after defensive ends -- are coming to New Smyrna Beach.
Twenty-five teams from around the state will compete in the Battle by the Beach 7 on 7 Tournament on Friday and Saturday at New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex.
"As a whole, the teams will combine to have at least 40 Division I prospects in action," said Chris Nee, a recruiting analyst who covers the state of Florida for Rivals.com. "(There will be) some great one-on-one battles."
The Red and Black Club, a group that supports youth sports in Southeast Volusia County, is hosting the tournament and offering a $10,000 first prize to the winning school and $5,000 to the runner-up.
The payouts will go to a 5013c nonprofit organization of the schools' choice, most likely their booster club.

yeah, I was surprised at the amount of money being paid. Its going to rain a lot, the skills and speed will not be on display as normal. I'm going to try and check some of it out.

Coldwater recently had a 7 on 7 at Dayton's Welcome stadium this past Friday.
