Do you work on your own car(s)/truck(s)?

Or do you take it to a mechanic?

I try and do as many repairs myself. Saves a few bucks. I dont even go anywhere for oil changes anymore. Quicker to do it myself.

How about you, OC?

I've never been to a mechanic. I started working with my grandpa on cars when I was a kid. If I can't do it myself, i'll take it to him.

I do the small stuff on my own and my cousin and I collaborate on the bigger issues that he is more experienced with.

Small things I'll do myself. Bigger things/things I don't know about I take to my family members who are mechanics.

My mom's boyfriend is a mechanic so he does the work when we need it. Luckily we own two Ford's so they only need routine maintenance.

Anything that can be done with a basic set of mechanic tools. I have a japanese car so everything is pretty much bolt on and easy to do.

And it's reasons like this why you are not a USA American.

As for me I don't know anything really about a car I'm sure if I wanted to I could do the small stuff but it's easier just to take it to a mechanic.

I think working on my own car and being able to drive a standard make me more american than bringing it into a mechanic. Just sayin....

If you were a real USA american you would drive an american car and not some jap crap pos. Also, everyone in europe drives a standard (even the women) so that doesn't count.

I change my own oil, but more than that and I take it to a mechanic.

Your daughter would probably not mouth off so much if you walked your round and drove a Ford.
