Last night my car overheated so instantly I figured it was thermostat that got stuck closed. I didn't feel like pissing with it because it was late so I let it sit till this morning when it was a little cooler to work on things. Anyhow, I picked up a thermostat and was going to change it out this today.
So I decide to double check this morning...so I start up the car and run it for about 20 mins.....nothing. Never raised above normal in temperature at all. I check the hoses....and they are both warm...as they should be. So my question is, can a thermostat get stuck and then become unstuck?
Bonus question: should I just go ahead and change it out if it is possible...because it is likely to happen again?
