Janish has played in 80 games since his last HR (several not starting)

The odds are probably better at 30-40/1.....but I figure in a little extra for not knowing if Renteria gets the start and Janish will be one of the last PHers. He'll hopefully get one soon but until then.....big odds baby!

Once I see that Janish is starting.....I may go in with a bigger bet......just for the excitement of making Paul Janish's at bat exciting.

Has 7 HR in 758 AB in his career. So one very 110 AB or so.

Every 22-25 starts he should hit one

not batting 8th will he get 110 AB in 25 games.....though he never walks so he might

Still....80 games played without a HR

Some futile HR hitters in MLB history....

Duane Kuiper. 1 HR in 3259 career at bats. His HR was against.....former cubs annoucner steve stone. I remember watching a sports blooper or highlight VHS when they interiews Stone about it.

William Holbert had 2000+ career at bats without a HR from 76-88, the most someone ever played without a HR.

This is at least modern era I think.

Larry bowa....15 HR in over 7800 at bats.

Rabbit marenville had 672 At bats one seseon without a HR

Never heard of Holbert.....which is odd because I pretty much studied and had every baseball card from 1981 thru 88.....which is why I always knew of Kuiper

Dude...it slipped by me too! Ha!

It is funny to listen to Stone talk about Kuiper. He said something like "Duane will tell you it was a monster shot but in reality it barely scaled the wall, but it doesnt matter. he got the job done........".
Funny the things ya recollect from the past. Think it was a blooper video or something.

wow a Janish homer with 50% less (if that's the right word) odds than a cycle.
