Person A- Lost a grandfather. Was pretty close to him. Sees fairly often. Parent came into the work place to tell individual. Saddened, a few tears. Taking off a day for the funeral. Pretty much kept to him or herself, business as usual.

Person B. Lost a spouse of the dads first cousin. Havent seen or contacted for a number of years. Parent came into the work place to tell the individual. Saddened, a ton of tears. Wants 2.5 days off for funeral. Already has made 4 phone calls to friends, been crying, and told two customers who have come into the store and making a huge deal of it.

Both were sick and had been for a little while. Person A was much closer to their loss than Person B.

Guess which one is the woman, and which one was the man?

This brings upon another subject. Why do some people always feel the need to interject their personal lives to complete strangers? If you walk into a store, or an office, do you really care if the employee you are talking to, who you dont know and dont care to know, has a vacation coming up? Or a birthday? Or a death in teh family? Or anything like that?

Seriously, it makes it an awkward situation for the person ya dont know. I went to Subway the other day, and the worker said to me when she didnt hear what I wanted "Oh, I am sorry, it is my birthday in two days and I am not thinking right"

Um...who cares? Now what...do I need to say happy birthday to this person I dont know, and dont care?

Well considering you referred to person A as "himself" I assume he is the man.
