Former manager Whitey Herzog and former umpire Doug Harvey were selected to the Hall of Fame by the veterans committee.
Late Pirates manager Danny Murtaugh finished with eight votes, four shy of the necessary number.
I think he should get in. Only managed 15 years but won two World Series titles, over 1,000 games and his teams went to the postseason five times. It was tougher to make it back then with less teams. Managed a lot of great players in Maz, Clemente, Stargell, etc.

Doug Harvey was one of the most repected umpires in baseball. He's one of the reasons I got into umpiring.
