WHen is/was midnight on June 23rd?

If something is to expire at midnight on june 23rd when would that be?

Last night when the clock struck midnight or tonight when it strikes midnight.

It is my contention it was last night/this morning as midnight on teh 23rd was then, as midnight 'tonite' is technically the 24th.

you're right. midnight the 23rd was last midnight.

Midnight June 23rd would be tonight. If someone said a movie rental had to be brought back by midnight on June 23rd I would not expect to have to return it until tonight.

June 24 starts at 12:00am

I understand technically that is how it is, but to say Midnight of June 23rd makes it sound like tonight, but maybe that's just me.

Think of this way, your insurance policy expires 12am 6/23. You wreck your car at 9am this morning on the way to work, if you hadn't renewed your policy you aren't covered anymore!
