I love it, it's exactly like running on the road except without the exhaust and with cool shit to look at and jump over.

Where do you like to run/know of any good trails?

I like to run Beaver Creek and the Mount Union Nature Center.

In Columbus, i used to love going to Highbanks Metro Park.

Really easy to get to, just north of Columbus off Rt. 23. You wouldn't expect to find great trails there, being so close to Polaris and the like, but it is really nice, and you definitely feel like you're "out there" when you're running.

If you're ever down in Oxford, Miami has miles of wooded trails, very beautiful.

The emerald necklace of the Cleveland Metroparks, specifically the Chagrin Reservation or Rocky River. Great, scenic running trails.

I stopped road racing because of trail running. I have run multiple ultras now and hope to run more with my daughter now that she's getting old enough.

The Buckeye Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is probably my favorite location.

Her username says 15... idk if you wanna go there man. We all know you wouldn't do well in jail.

As for me I love going to Van Buren State Park as its the closest place around me to run some nice trails. I loved it in college when we'd go down to Highbanks in the summer to run was always a good time and they have some awesome trails.

If there's grass on the field, play ball. If not, play in the mud.

It was. Spoke with him while I was home. He's very motivated, but knows the odds are against him. But I think it's great hrs still trying to reach his dream.
But running the farm is what will make him a rich man.

It was funny talking about his one day where he jogged 3 miles, then did 3 more miles at 5:08, 5:09 and 5:10, then jogged for 10 minutes and then did a 4:49 mile, then jogged a cool down lap.

He wants to run 57 splits in the 1500.....best of luck to him...he doesn't sound too far off.

My senior year at Fu. We were doing 2 a days in soccer. First session was 7:45 - 10:45. He ran by us as we were stretching and I drove by him leaving the school. And he wasn't jogging. Even as someone who ran with him in track the years before that, I was still amazed watching him run.

CC -- Do you know a specific distance on a certain trail in the woods? It'll be hard to describe but if you start like you're running the normal mile loop, but if you add on the far loop out past the old 2.5mile marker for the high school cross, where it takes out near the road, any idea on that distance? I've been doing that plus a lap in the pine prairie thinking it's probably about two miles total?
