Ivan Nova vs Johnny Cueto

Eh...I expect a pretty good series, hopefully they focus more on everything throughout the game.

I will guess the key to the winning of the series will be the Reds offense needing to do what the Yankees do best...work the pitcher. Also the Reds bullpen will have to be ready as 90 pitches in the 5th and 6th is common against the Yankees.

The Reds actually line up great against New York. They miss Burnett and Sabathia. The Yankees have a lot of injuries and are NOT built to compete defensively in the National League.

However, one thing that concerns me is they ARE built to put up big offense at GABP. I'd be confident if the Reds came in hitting...but they aren't. Unlike Toronto who has maybe 3 or 4 guys who can burn you BIG (Hill, Bautista, Lind, Arencibia or Escobar), the Yankees won't be held down and play 3-2 games against the Reds. The Reds NEED big hits, especially with RISP. Do that, and I think they can match New York with the rotation and pen lineups for this series...

So Bronson going 8 yesterday may have been critical to have a rested bullpen to start this series!

1976 all over again....................The Reds in a sweep !!! Ok, maybe we don't have Rose, Morgan, Bench, etc but the boys should be excited about this series. The crowds will be big so we'll see how they handle the "moment".

Bronson going 6 or 8 wouldn't have made a huge difference.....but 8 is always good. When used teh bullpen has to be sharp IMO......Dusty can't compound his mistakes by bringing in Arrendondo in the top of the 7th and use him for 1 batter and then Bray and then Masset. Most occasions use that reliever until there is just a bad bad matchup or they don't have it. I hate it when Bray, Masset or Ondrusek look unhittable and he uses them for 1 or 2 batters.

The radar looks awful....hope it's dry enough, long enough to get a full game in.

We're getting the Yankees at the right time. (they're pretty banged up and plus we miss the only pitching talent that they have)

They have a weak rotation, but losing Jeter and Joba doesn't really hurt. Not having to put Jeter at the top of the lineup actually makes this team better IMO. Reds will have to score early and hope to hold on.

I was at all 3 of the games the last time the Yankees were in town. The only time I can remember a bigger buzz in the ballpark was last year's playoff game and when Bonds was in town about to break Aaron's record. These games are better than opening day when you get a bunch of business people going to socialize and leave after 5 innings.

Yankees have gone 5-1 since Jeter went down.

I don't want to play the Yankees ever, let alone when they are hot.

I really like Gardner. His speed and defense are tremendous.

Gardner then Granderson....nice 1-2!

Then you get Teixeira and Arod

I'll predict an Andruw Jones PH HR tonight.

Radar is improving for the Cincy area.

I am excited about the fact regardless of what happens, the game will be discussed on Mike & Mike on ESPN radio ad nauseam and Sportscenter will cover the game for 1/3 of the entire broadcast. LOL!
