lol, non is never going to be able to shake off that idiotic comment until he admits his comment was in fact idiotic. Gotta love when idiotic comments come back to bite people in the ass.

I'm in the minority because I still watch baseball quite a bit even being a fan of a lousy team. I'm an exception.

Nice spin, I would create an exception too if one of my comments made myself look like an idiot.

That wasn't a spin. Overall the Pirates have lost a lot of fans but that doesn't mean there aren't some who still follow the team and baseball. Same as with any team.

You can still have fans, but the fact of the matter is the team sucks, so that means that fans are not knowledgable at all. This is your way of thinking, not mine.

When the Indians were hot during the mid to late 90s they had a lot more fans than the Pirates but because of that success it generated more interest and with that came knowledge of the league overall. Compared to a dwindling fan base where many lost interest. It was flipped for a brief period from 1990-92 when the Pirates were having success and the Indians were still at the old stadium and nobody went to the games.

No you're just picking out what you want and repeating it over and over. I explained this so many times. It's not that difficult to understand my point.

Ok? What does that have to do with the fact that your team is not good, so that means your fans are not knowledgeable in the sport of baseball. Once again, this is your way of thinking not mine.

No where in this conversation have I even mentioned the amount of fans. You can have 1000000000 more fans than Cleveland does, but if we go by your theory, those fans have no knowledge of baseball because the Pirates are not good. Lol just admit your comment was idiotic, and this will all end.

yeah it does, in some cases

take hockey for example, I used this example last time

Detroit Red Wings vs. Florida Panthers

or college football Ohio State vs. Indiana

Detroit and Ohio State have a lot more fans because of the winning tradition that leads to more fans being interested in watching the sport, other games taking place, buying the magazines and so on...and with that comes more knowledgeable fans

I'm not saying it's automatic in every situation. Obviously there are strong fans for every team. That was never my point.

Horrible example. OSU has one of the most delusional fan bases in college football.

You can be a Browns fan and be more knowledgeable than a Steelers fan that lives next door.

And you can be a Pirates fan and be more knowledgeable than an Indians fan.

There's no question about it. I'm not denying that.

They're crazy and passionate but still many fans live and breath college football and know about the recruiting and every little detail about the sport.

There's not even close to the amount of those fans for some other schools.

I'll give you the "passionate" and "crazy" but I've seen some delusional/dumb shit...."if Ginn doesn't get injured in that NC game, we win !!!"

Are you referring to me, because if so, you might want to read my whole post. I am mocking Non, for his idiotic theory he posted himself during football season.

If you are not, then +1.

So, then why during football season did you insist on posting your idiotic theory in Cleveland threads? Oh, because you were trolling? Ok.

Yeah but there's still enough fans that even with the many who are passionate, crazy and delusional there are still many more knowledgeable ones than your average program.

I guess we'll disagree on this.

I think it may have been before a Cleveland-Pittsburgh game but I can't remember back that far.

Just got in to hear the good news. btw, sports knowledge and fandom in orlando is a joke....they literally know less about their teams than I do. So sad when you consider that they have some pretty decent teams to root for.

I don't equate knowledge to knowing who the hell #58 is or what position they play, that's casual fandom at best and bandwogoners at worst.
