The 2011 NBA Draft takes place on June 23rd at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ...

Kyrie Irving is expected to go #1 Overall to Cleveland... Cavs fans like that or would you go in another direction? Who do you want your team to draft?

Celtics don't pick until #25, I wouldn't mind them going after JuJuan Johnson from Purdue... With losing Shaq to retirement & Krstic to returning overseas to play the C's are definitely short on big men & I think Johnson would be a great fit in Boston.

Noooo, save JuJuan for the Cavs in the 2nd round. I'm probably one of the few that would like to see the Cavs go with Williams 1st and Knight 4th. Although that may be too big of risk of not getting either Irving or Knight. Safe bet is Irving and then one of the bigs.

I think the hilarious part of this draft is the Lakers have 4 second round draft picks and none of them are in the top 40.

I wonder if they will either try to package a couple to move up, sell them to other teams, or draft a bunch of players that won't make the team.

Obviously, a dreaming Cavs fan would like to see the Irving/Williams combo pulled out of Grant/Gilbert's ass.

But I am going to go with Irving/Kanter.

Already talking about trying to buy a pick in the 1st round. Most you can spend is $3 mil. I'm pretty sure they will get something done.

Hear anything about Darko being involved in the rumored Gasol trade? Dude is a winner!

And supposedly, Captain Jack is NOT happy about having to relocate again. Not so sure he will ever see a Bucks jersey. Although, I think he would be a great fit.

cavs trying to use the 14.5 million trade exemption to get another lottery pick by taking a hideous contract. Rip Hamilton has been mentioned.

also said if they get another lottery pick they'll look to deal it and #4 for the 2nd pick to take williams.

Not much time left to pull that off

Plus trades made now are different right? If you trade now, the original team picks the player for you. Or am I wrong there?

I think that's only when you trade for the rights to the draft pick, not that actual pick. If that makes sense?

That may be. Idk. The NBA has weird trade rules all the way around.

Posted this on the Cavs thread. Disregard the comments about the #7 pick. That ship has sailed...

NBA Trade Rumors: Cavaliers Want Tristan Thompson, Seek Third Lottery Pick

The Cleveland Cavaliers hold two picks in the top five for Thursday's NBA draft, but that isn't enough for the team that is really looking to improve.

ESPN's Chad Ford is reporting that the Cavaliers are now seeking a third lottery pick, with the Sacramento Kings (no. 7) and Detroit Pistons (no. 8) as the most likely targets.

Cleveland is expected to draft Kyrie Irving first overall and Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas at no. 4, so they' clearly feel that Thompson will be available if they trade back into the top 10 selections.

MUST READ: 9 Potential Biggest Trades on Draft Day

The Cavs would really like to land Derrick Williams in addition to Irving and Valanciunas, but that might not be possible if the T-Wolves are intent on keeping him.

Cleveland's massive $14.5 million trade exception from LeBron James' departure gives them a competitive advantage over others in trade talks, and they plan to use it wisely.

The Cavs can't get much worse than they showed last season, and if they're able to land three lottery selections on Thursday night, it could get a lot better very shortly for the team.

FWIW from realgm:07:07 PM: RUMOR: Chris Mannix is reporting the Wolves are contemplating trading the No. 2 overall pick for Monta Ellis.

07:04 PM: RUMOR: Chad Ford reports that the Raptors appear to be preferring Bismack Biyombo with the fifth overall pic.

could it be a 3 team deal? minnesota gets monta and some pieces, GS gets #4 and loses monta and gets some cap space. cleveland gets #2?

I'd blow my load if somehow cleveland could land Ellis. By far my favorite player outside Cleveland
