So, I was outside pulling vines and weeds from the side of the house and accidentally cut into my Dish cable. Now I have a complete signal loss on the receiver, is this something I can cut and splice myself or do I have to call Dish to come fix it?

I'd call DISH to be safe....I imagine they'll take care of it without issue.

You can fix it yourself if you want tv back on. Might take a few days to get a guy out to fix it

It's just coax. It's not like you're trying to splice fiber. You can handle this job.

Famous last words. Lol
Check out where each end connects and see if you can get back to tv land....you still have about 5 hours.

anyone know how much they would charge, if anything, for a service call? I don't have the protection plan.

They've always been good to me...if they do charge a little the serviceman will rig something ip to keep it cheaper or to make it work better.

Don't waste your money by calling Dish Network. You can fix it yourself for a couple of dollars and less than a 1/2 hours time.

You could also make a temporary fix till you can get to the hardware store, you will need the following items.
It is pretty self explanatory when you look at the pictures and most of these things can likely be found in the hall closet.
