Prerequisites:
Drivers Installed & Working
SDK Installed with ADB
Exploits.zip with contents extracted to your ADB dir
PG05IMG.zip
Downgrade RUU
A Thunderbolt running 605.6 or 605.9 Firmware

Sounds like you need ADB and dirvers installed and working as well as the files downloaded. Those directions seem a heck of a lot easier than rooting my Incredible before unrvoked was released.

Go to unrevoked and download....if it doesn't work, I bet you need to install your drivers.

When I get home from work...i can get you a step by step.

Download and install "installer_r11-windows.exe" (Recommended)

http://www.htc.com/us/support/thunderbolt-verizon/downloads/
Download "HTC Sync v 3.0.5511". You can just install the drivers for the phone. I wouldn't install the Sync program.

Also, check the phone's firmware (Settings ->About Phone). Make sure you are running the correct firmware for the hack.

After all that check and make sure you can connect to your phone via ADB.

If you don't care to learn how to use ADB, I wold wait. I don't know how many benefits there are for a rooted Thunderbolt at this time.

Yeah I have no idea where to even begin. I basically wanted to be able to remove all these stupid pre loaded apps and once I got good with it mess around more with it

It is always nice to get rid of the crapware that comes on those phones but until an easier rooting method comes around, I would just hang with what you have now. I'm sure you don't want a new paperweight.

I have been using cyanogenmod since 6.1 was released. Right now I am running 7.0.3, which is Android 2.3.3, with little to no problems.

That is the version I am running too. My battery life seems worse than before and I will have times where my phone will try to load up an app and just get a black screen

Most of the problems I found can be traced back to a bad app. Did you clear everything when you installed/upgraded?

I think so. I did use rom manager and some people complain about it. Maybe it is the problem.

The original droid is very easy to root and flash.

Even if there was such a site, I would never trust my phone to some hack.

I'd just wait for a 1-click solution. I'd be impressed if there weren't one in the coming weeks
