"Do I think Coach Tress was in the dark about the alleged ongoing violations by his players? No way. I always thought that man knew everything. My freshman year he approached me, a mere walk-on back-up punter, and asked me how my parents and two sisters were doing. He referred to them all by name! We had about 120 players on the team and he knew every person in all 120 immediate families. He knew because he cared. "

Not really. It's his opinion only.ksig489;796025 wrote:"Do I think Coach Tress was in the dark about the alleged ongoing violations by his players? No way. I always thought that man knew everything. Not damaging but provides insight to those who claim Tressel couldn't keep tabs on what kind of cars Pryor was driving and where a percentage of his team was spending their Friday nights.

Knowing where they are spending time and what car they are driving are two completely different things.

You said this:
It doesn't provide any insight into Tressel keeping tabs on his players on their whereabouts. Knowing family members is equatable to knowing what kind of car you're driving, I'll give you that, but to even say because he knows family members he knows their whereabouts is laughable at best and extremely extremely ignorant at worst.thedynasty1998;796046 wrote:Not damaging but provides insight to those who claim Tressel couldn't keep tabs on what kind of cars Pryor was driving and where a percentage of his team was spending their Friday nights.

If he knows the walk-on punter's sisters name...he damn well should know what kind of car his QB1 is driving. I loved Tress, but he fkd up thinking he could "handle" this himself. He was told in the very first email the FBI was investigating a known drug trafficker...THE F'n FBI FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! How does any intelligent person think he's going to handle that without it becoming public knowledge at some point?

100% agree with Thoma. Tressel is a great man and a great coach.

And we aren't talking about where Thoma is hanging out. Pryor is as high profile as anyone in Columbus. You keep tabs on him. That is not unrealistic at all.

You said percentage of team. Still completely unrealistic.

Yea a percentage of the team was hanging out at a tattoo parlor, including Pryor. Should have been much easier to see.

Evidently you dont know how much a college coach at a MAJOR school works. Granted your coach at your community college might have had the time, but for fuck's sakes, Tressel is a coach, and a teacher. Doesn't have time to baby sit a junior QB. The guy is fucking human after all with a family. Get real.

And a brilliant contribution to this thread...
When you are the highest paid public employee in the state you make time, and if you can't you delegate that task.

A percentage of the team was hanging out there...even ol' "I'll get my daddy to sue you" Klein never claimed he didn't go there...he only claimed he doesn't have any tattoos or sold any memorabilia. Maybe the fact nobody was willing to buy any Stormy Klein autographed stuff had something to do with it hmmm? C'mon guys dozens of players were hanging out at this place from time to time and they were smokin the ganja and drinkin 40s in exchange for jerseys, cleats, helmets, gold pants and rings.
