Last night neighbor lady came over and said there was a bat upstairs.

So, of course, thavoice to the rescue!

Damn thing was hiding, in the corner of the closet. It flew out and captured it with a towel on its second swoop in for attack!

Took outside and was gonna kill it by stomping on the town with it in it...but it flew away.

I haven't, but I wouldn't kill anything that eats bugs. I've been wanting to build a bat house to put in my backyard. Catch and release was a good thing here IMHO. :)

The body looked so small when it was sitting trying to hide, but when they open their wwings it surprised me.

Yeah....guess in the end it is agood thing.

Kill them fuckers or they just find their way back in. There are enough bats to eat the bugs.

Caught one when I was in Band Camp back in HS. It started flying around the cabin after the lights were out.. I grabbed a towel and threw it on top of it once it landed in the floor. It was let go outside. Neat creatures.

My best friend took a bat to a bat. He *THINKS* he made contact with it, but never found the body to confirm.

Regardless, he never had a problem again.

I caught one in a hotel lobby one night. Was checking in and it must've flew in with me. It flew up to a shelf and I caught it by surprise with one of those hotel guidebook directories. Closed it up gently into the book. Took it outside and let it go on the ground. It stayed on the ground for a few hours. Kept checking back on it every so often, was worried I squished it too hard. About two hours later it was gone.

As for a bat house, yeah, they're a good idea. As mentioned, any thing that eats bugs/mosquitoes/etc is welcome at my house.

I never have but I can remember one being caught in a pillow case at my grandma's and she threw it in the washer not knowing it was in there. She went to get the clothes out and it was still alive.

ever since the run in I had with the last bat I can't seem to go outside during the day and I started ordering steaks rare. Weird!

I don't try to catch or injure them...just shuussh them out an open door. Close doors of all rooms except the ones that lead to the way out. Use large pillows or sofa cushions to 'guide' the bat into the next room. Once you get it to the room with the doorway out, the creature will make for the opening 'like a bat out of hell'.

Note: this technique does not work for birds which are stupid as hell. Bats, being mammals, are pretty smart, and are well equipped to find their way out.

If it makes you fell any better, a cat probably got it. ;)
