The Texas Rangers selected Georgia baseball player Johnathan Taylor in the 33rd round of the amateur baseball draft. Taylor was partially paralyzed after suffering a broken neck from a collision that occurred on March 6th against Florida State. Great gesture by the Rangers. Props to them.

Years ago Bobby Knight talked the Celtics into drafting a paralyzed Landon Turner in the 10th round of the NBA draft as a favor to Bobby Knight and Turner. He was paralyzed in a car wreck after winning the Nat Title

In that case there was no chance he would ever play.

Many years ago a NHL team drafted a dead guy I think.

It's cool that they drafted this guy's teammate and best friend earlier in the draft. So although he may never walk again, he will be able to be alongside his best friend as he attempts to adapt to professional baseball, etc.
