I'm not John Fay.
Volquez is going against Doug Davis who the Reds hit well against more often than not.
Phillips is 9/21
Votto 2/4
Gomes 2/6
Lewis 4/10....but I think GOmes is starting
Hanigan is 2/2
Hernandez 7/23
Renteria is not available...but if he was he is 8/18 off of him.

Fay will have it up around 4:00 on twitter....I'll guess with Dusty
1. Stubbs CF
2. Phillips 2B
3. Votto 1B
4. Cairo 3B.....see how well I know Dusty
5. Bruce RF
6. Gomes LF.....if he threw Gomes at #4 I would laugh...but not be shocked
7. Hernandez C
8. Janish SS

Is Davis a lefty? If he was a righty I would've had Dusty with that lineup....didn't think Dusty would put Bruce in the 4 hole vs lefties only hitting about .340

PREDICTION.....Davis is an 0-4 lefty....Gomes is a righty with 4 RBI last night
Davis will pitch soft stuff away and Jonny will go 0-4 with 2 strikeouts

Probably will unless he throw those 88 mph fastballs middle in OR the righties actually take it opposite field.
I won't be surprised in any way if Davis goes about 8 innings on 90 pitches and gives up about 5 hits.....for over a decade...that's what the damn Reds do. Fortunately though the Cubs suck and throw a lot of creampuffs...and the Reds are one of the best on creampuff hitting.

Thank God Volquez cut off his hair. Is that some sort of penance for him?

EV only gives up a hit and K's two in the first. More importantly, he gets out of the first inning without giving up a run.
Should have cut the hair a long time ago...

Get him a lead and then let's see how he does.

Struggling a bit here in the second. Gave up back-to-back doubles and the Cubs are up 1-0.

Gomes got his swing back perhaps? Another single for him.
