I currently have a Blackberry, and am satisfied with it for most things except for music. Question for the OC is should I just get a Touch, or switch over to the iPhone?

You didn't say what you used your phone for.

Get an ipod now, and wait for Droid Bionic to be released for your next phone.

Basically I use it for texts, emails, some web surfing, media player when working out. I don't formulate complicated spreadsheets or give constant Twitter updates

It all depends on what you want to spend. Do you have AT&T or Verizon? Are you eligible for an upgrade? Its all most for certain that your monthly charges will go up once you switch to an iPhone so you have to take that into account.

Then be ready to pay a lot. If I were you I'd go iPod touch or Nano...if for music only.

no it wont, since he has a blackberry he already has the smartphone plan.

to the OP- no need to waste money on an ipod touch. what can you do with an ipod touch? listen to music, get on the internet, download apps.
buy an iphone and get a phone and an ipod in one. no need to waste money or have to lug around 2 devices.

Wasting money would be paying for an Iphone without the upgrade subsidy. Buying an mp3 player of some sort seems to be his best option right now.

Will you be using it while running much?

true on that part, he doesnt have to buy an iphone4 though. iphone3 does the same thing.

if there are any other phones on your plan, check them and see if the contract is expired or if they are eligible for an upgrade.

I figured more data usage w/ the iphone=more charges. I just looked at AT&T's. They've changed their charges/pricing around. Blackberries previously had their own set charges, now everything is lumped in either 3 or 4g.

An upgrade to any phone without eligibilty is going to be expensive as hell. However, iOS 5 looks very nice. If you can, I'd just wait until you're eligible for upgrade. Don't buy an iPod touch, it'll only make you want the iPhone that much more.

an iPod or other mp3 player is in your best interest.

The people suggesting a new phone are idiots.
